In a sense, Andrew Marvell, the poet of “To His Coy Mistress”, wrote John Milton’s Paradise Lost too. Marvell (1621-1678), was secretary and apprentice to Milton (1608-1674), who went blind at old age. Milton dictated Paradise Lost to Marvell in prison, where Milton, the once teacher in London, was sent upon the Restoration for writing against the government and for his role in the fall of Charles I and the rise of the Commonwealth.

En cierto sentido, Andrew Marvell, el poeta de “A su recatada dama”, escribió también el Paraíso Perdido de John Milton . Marvell (1621-1678) fue secretario y discípulo de Milton (1608-1674), que se quedó ciego de mayor. Milton dictó el Paraíso Perdido a Marvell en la cárcel, a donde fue enviado tras la restauración por escribir contra el gobierno y por su papel previo en la caída de Carlos I y el auge de la Commonwealth.
