Being noticed, a race official tried to stop her from running but failed as eventually several champions emerge to protect and scort her up to the finish line, which she reached after approximately 4 hours and 20 minutes. That deed was the symbolic beginning of the race which finally five years after allowed women to officially participate in the Boston Marathon officially for the first time ever
